WAYNE WHITE
Its not like a fine artist to put together a hilarious one man show with puppets, banjos, arresting images and LOTS of laughs but Wayne White is not your average artist. For the past thirty years Wayne has been making his monolithic mark on the pop culture world as one of the creators of some of the most iconic images in print, television and fine art. He won three Emmy’s as a designer and voice over artist on the Pee-wee’s Playhouse TV show, as well as Billboard and MTV Music Video Awards for his art direction for The Smashing Pumpkins ‘Tonight, Tonight’ and Peter Gabriel’s ‘Big Time’ videos. Recently, Wayne has become a very successful fine artist and his famous word paintings have traveled the globe.
For the past year Wayne has been touring his one man show where he takes the audience on a journey through his life and times as a painter, illustrator, sculptor, art director, animator and Southerner. This is not your normal artist’s talk as Wayne delivers a wildly funny narrative set to the tune of his own banjo and guided by photos gathered from his career and the images that influenced him as an artist.
